Our actions and reflections beyond organizing an event

I woke up this morning alerted by the news of Tonga hit by the tsunami. It’s hard to start 2022 hit not only by waves from the pandemic, but now actual waves wrecking the lives of thousands of Tongans (many of whose fate remains uncertain). This tragic news reminded me of another tsunami years ago, in 2004. We knew we were not a big humanitarian agency, but our little Lutheran church worked with another Methodist church believing we had a role to play.
